This story is huge. Most of the stories I’ve recced so far are ones I’ve read at least twice. Some of them I’ve reread 5-6 times. I’ve only read this story right through once, because it is enormous, but there are sections that I’ve reread many times. If I want something to feel like I’ve been stabbed in the heart but in a good way, I turn to this fic. If I want the hurtiest, comfortiest type of hurt/comfort, there’s a specific part I reread. Bucky’s voice in this story is incredible, and the science/depth of knowledge is mind-boggling. This story features stranded astronaut!Bucky and more than one really needs to know about using your own poo to grow potatoes on Mars.

The Man on the Wall by CaseyStar (aka kcsplace) is a very clever crossover AU between The Martian and MCU. It’s 35 glorious chapters of Bucky Barnes being stranded alone on Mars after a disastrous mission accident, while NASA and his shipmates do everything they can to get him back . Features Mission Commander Steve Rogers, Sam Wilson, Thor, Natasha Romanov and Clint Barton on board the spaceship Valkyrie, while Nick Fury, Pepper Potts, Tony Stark, Phil Coulson and Bruce Banner do their best back on Earth. This is the first installment of the Ares 3 series by this author. It’s a great read, and worth checking out.
