I went to the aquarium and saw the dolphin show twice today and almost cried ten times each because when I was five I wanted to be a dolphin trainer so bad and now I'm 18 and leaving for college in three weeks and how did that even happen.

I'm eighteen years old and today my best friend presented me with a picture of us from prom in a frame covered in my favorite flowers. And I finally removed the "best friends" frame that has been sitting on my bedside table since I was twelve years old. Two years ago I began to grow apart from the girl I had been inseparable with. It wasn't a dirty friend break up at all but sometimes I get a little sad that all the life plans we made in her bedroom at thirteen years old will never come to be. And today, I guess in a way removing that frame and that picture of us was a dumb symbol of growing up even more.
