Technically, I actually do have most of the first chapter done as well as portions of the chapters for each Noble Team member. I should mention they're done in Word. You know, the program I can't use anymore so essentially they're here but are inaccessible to me now? I'm not stressed about that or anything, though! (╯‵□′)╯︵┻━┻

Anyway. Guess who just got an idea for another Choose Your Own... type story for Noble Team?

Yeah, maybe I should do that instead.

*whispers* Anyway, what it was about was...

NEVER MIND, GEESH.

Today is his -495th birthday!

Carter was born on Biko and lost his family to a Covenant attack on the colony in 2526. Before he could join the refugee population, he was conscripted into the SPARTAN-III program and was originally assigned to Alpha Company. Alpha Company's intended purpose was deployment to high-risk suicide missions. Carter was deemed too valuable to waste, and he was subsequently separated from Alpha Company and included as part of a Spartan team which provided on-the-field support for the UNSC Army.

When Spartan special forces NOBLE team was assembled, Carter was chosen as its leader. NOBLE participated in the Battle of Reach, largely to slow or interrupt Covenant activity on the planet. Although they were fighting a losing battle, they dealt significant blows to the Covenant advance.

Since it goes kinda fast and has that sorta shaky cam thing going on, here are some screencaps of moments I didn’t immediately notice:

Jorge and Sára definitely have the tol and smol thing going on, my gracious! 😍

When the Elite swings his energy sword at them, Jorge turns and takes the hit on his back, then goes down, shielding her with his body.

As the Elite goes after Kat, Carter and Six, Carter pushes Kat out of the way (while Six lights the Elite up liek woah). Is this a good time to add that shielding the other with their body is one of my favorite tropes??? 😍 *waves tiny but mighty Carter/Kat shipper flag*

The Elite jumps Six and, in grim foreshadowing, tries to stab her with the energy sword. She gets a hold of his arm and prevents the blow, then shows him how well Spartans throw haymakers.

*BIG SMILE* 😬😂

This scene always goes so fast that, for the longest time I thought that Kat was who kicked the gun back to Six but it’s Carter. Kat is over a few steps lighting the Elite’s armor up. Also in the background, Jorge is still covering Sára. 💖

This part always bothers me because they just stand there and let that Elite drag the marine away! In that last shot, he’s trying desperately to hang onto the door, ZOMG, and we do nothing! 😭 I mean, maybe they didn’t think they had a shot and could’ve hit him instead (the Elite is holding him up as cover) but still! We just... watch him get dragged away, screaming for help. 😭

Anyway, this next one had to be a GIF, because reasons. 😇

Jorge moves like a frickin’ tank and I love it! 😍👍

Honestly, if I had the ability/knowledge/etc. to do it, I’d write an entire alternate version of events just to see how that would play out to have Sára with them. Then, of course, there would be the dramatic moment when you think that Jorge has died just to discover that he was

No, I don’t know how. But in my version, it totally happened somehow. *nodnods* 😁

And then, yay, all of Noble Team makes it off of Reach by catching a ride with the UNSC frigate Convenient Plot Device* and it’s a happy ending for everybody!

*C’mon, the way they name their ships, this one would fit right in, IMO. 🤷‍♀️😇

You already know how it ends. What matters is that, through their bravery and sacrifice, they saved us all. Remember Reach. Remember Noble Team.

Right, left, right right, left left left. The taught fabric of the punching bag was grounding against his knuckles, even despite the tape.

He should’ve been asleep hours ago.

“Three O’clock high, Marine!”

Carter barked, depressing the trigger of his DMR thrice, eyes locking onto the spray of blood that flew from the Jackal’s head.

Right right right, left, right, left left.

His skin was on fire and freezing at the same time.

“Corpsman! Corpsman!”

Came the voice of PFC Cassidy, sounding panicked over the roar of MA5s. Carter looked back, and found Cassidy’s eyes locked onto the fallen body of Corporal Richards.

Why?

Right, left.

Why was this effecting him so much?

Soldiers died. That was war.

But he couldn’t for the life of him get the look in Cassidy’s eyes out his mind.

Bang.

The bag hit the floor.

Evidently not every ship in the Navy had facilities designed for Spartans.
