There are a lot of good ideas being submitted. Teams have taken to building their own straw polls and then asking members to throw all their weight behind a single vote. That’s great, but sometimes that choice is going to be a dead end. So we’re going to make a tweak that will hopefully benefit everyone: of the top three places in the voting results, we’ll pick the one to send to Dad. (Or two, if you’re the winning dreidel team.)

We hate seeing you go down dead ends as much as you do. Now we’ll be able to make sure that a good minority opinion gets the attention it deserves, if it deserves it.

Does this mean an ignored suggestion is completely wrong? Not necessarily; it could just not be time to see it yet. Meanwhile, if a team’s best suggestions are all slithy poppycock, then we’ll just have to let them send Dad down a rabbit hole.
