Hey there. Do you like my alternate Core Caroline AU? Well I’ve got news for you. I dug up these old sketches and I’m actually amazed cause they’re...WAY better than I remember.
Can you kinda tell I didn’t know what to do with CaveOS (or whatever I should call him???) He’s kinda more...angular and his optic is more of a mucky orange. I kinda figured that the construction of the AI body wouldn’t change too much? In theory he would look pretty much like how GladOS would look but...well, that’s all I’ve got. Might refine the design later. Yes, Cave is the one in control of the facility. This whole AU is because he didn’t end up dying before they could pour him into a computer so he assumed control and decided he wanted Caroline to stay with him forever so he made her become an AI as well.
Anyways, this sequence of drawings is kinda like an alternate take on Portal 2 where Caroline, the Assistant core ends up helping you through Aperture and won’t stop fawning over Cave, even though Cave kinda pushed her aside feeling he didn’t even need an assistant what with all his power and control.
Caroline eventually gets hooked up to the chasis with the intent of helping Chell escape and remembers that she was forced to become an AI and really THINKS about how Cave pushed her aside so naturally she’s pretty angry about that. And then you basically get GladOS in some roundabout way! Tada!!!
