sheer boredom. that’s what grabbed him by the ear and dragged him out of the house that night, actually clad in clothes that didn’t resemble recent homelessness. the invites that caroline casually dropped always fell through his fingers and shattered on the ground. but, an unsettling comment made by coach finstock about how scott and stiles were practically siamese twins motivated him to branch out. truthfully, he couldn’t exactly say what he was expecting the outcome to be. he and caroline had been revolving in two completely different worlds for years now. the last thing he was expecting though was to be completely abandoned and left looking like a stray dog, drowning in a sea of jocks and testosterone.
he really isn’t sure how exactly things played out. one second he was sober, the next he was certainly not. one second he hadn’t been punched in the face by a football player, the next he certainly fucking had been. stiles couldn’t explain how he somehow found the bathroom in his inebriated state even if he focused really, really hard on trying to. but there he was, bent over the sink that someone had definitely just thrown up in. ( maybe it was him? ) blood dripped down his lip from his nose, his vision far too blurry to notice caroline immediately upon her entering. after a second of concentration, he speaks, ❝ oh, hey. ❞ the hostility in his voice that is locked, aimed, and fired at her surprises even him, the tequila eradicating any sort of filter that remained. ( although, he isn’t 100% sure that he has one even when he’s sober. ) ❝ great party. seriously, thanks for the invite. it’s been a total fucking blast. ❞
