carnivorous grass is a species of carnivorous plant that primarily thrives on the great prairies. this species of grass is almost indistinguishable from the other species of grass, making it easy for unsuspecting animals to walk onto a patch of the carnivorous grass to graze.
when a creature steps on a patch of the grass, it will shoot out tiny barbs that paralyze the creature and cause it to collapse onto the ground. after which, the grass will slowly grow over the creature, either suffocating it to death or if the animal dies from other causes while being paralyzed.
after the grass has fully encased an animal, it will slowly digest it (even the bones) and as it does, the encasement will slowly shrink down until it will completely disappear as the creature is fully consumed.
