It has been a day of small tasks and preoccupation...until just now. As I opened the back door, I caught a glimpse of a large buck running across the lawn, too quick to capture with my phone. Then I noticed the air, permeated with the scent of the wild roses that have burst into bloom. It’s the smell of fresh air after the light rain that fell and an intoxicating floral perfume that has to be experienced to understand. This is the pile of snow that began to slide off our roof at 3am this morning. As it fell, it compacted into an icy mess that is extremely difficult to move. The pile is up to 5 feet high in places, and 100 feet long on the front and back of the house. 😡 The snowblower started making scary noises this morning, so no help there. I suggested to my DH that we break out the chainsaws and make blocks.
