“For white folks especially, not looking like you're oppressed is equivalent to not being oppressed. That's why they look at Black people in certain positions of middle class lifestyle and say, ‘Well, you're you're not discriminated against.’ That's why they don't count microaggressions as racism historically. That's why they don't look at neocolonial situations as colonial even though they clearly are, because it doesn't look like obvious racism. It doesn't look like obvious white supremacy. That's why white people are like this. And that's why again, you know, white queers have racism envy. That's the term I'm going to use. Straightforward, white queers have racism envy. They think in their heads that the kind of social currency you get from being obviously discriminated against is something that could be wanted, desired, sought after in any serious way, which in itself is racist, is anti-Black. The idea that not only you being straight-passing is something that maps onto exactly what being white-passing is, but also that this is some sort of crime against the marginalized community and some sort of indication of your having special powers over other people. I mean, that's just queerphobic and based off of how you read that, it's racist.”
—Elliot Sang, Mysogyny against bi women
what’s bonkers to me is the number of so-called “progressive” people using “this political climate” as a way to tell women they’re not allowed to express themselves and make their own choices about their sexuality. sabrina carpenter shouldn’t be publicly kinky (if we can even call it that!!) because of the political climate. what will men think? FLETCHER shouldn’t share about her relationship with a man and her new understanding of herself as bisexual because of the political climate. what will straight people think?
if you genuinely believe people with marginalized identities should limit their self expression because people in the privileged classes will possibly misunderstand or use their expression incorrectly, you’re just repacking respectability politics.
for now we'll both keep on pretending - fletcher (x)

Happy international lesbian day!
Here are some lesbian musicians
Bisexuals exist (I am one) but a woman who was pretty celebrated in the WLW community dropping a terrible song about being in love with a boy during pride month and acting like you’re doing something radical is a choice.
I kissed a boy And I know it wasn’t what you wanted to hear And I know it wasn’t on your bingo card this year Well it wasn’t on mine I kissed a boy
Girl…shut up
That queer singer/women’s football connection 🔥
