Automotive Culture in Canada
Just like any country, Canada has their own car culture. And at times I’m not a fan of how enthusiasts come across to new additions to the “family”. It just seems that people in the car scene couldn’t give a single care about its growth and future. Because it’s true, at some point we won’t be here, and it will be up to the future generations to keep the car shows, aftermarket, and content going.
Now I’m sure my father and uncles all though the same way when I was young, and I’m personally ok with everything going “electric”. It’s all changes and cycles with new ideas and ingenuity. But there’s still lots to worry about, because everyone is so wrapped up in status and likes, and there’s a chance that the genuine car culture we see today will be lots forever.
I try to do my part in this madhouse we call car culture, but it still keeps me up at night. People needs to honestly think about how their actions effect those around them. They need to be more inclusive, stop hating on less modified cars, and show these young gearheads all the fun they could be having, or else, it may come to a point where the term gearhead will be used to describe car enthusiasts from “back in the day”!
