He moved, just a little. A little to the right, hand gripping the chairs armrest. Then he stood up to his full height over the petite woman. “You put a lot of stock in me so far, haven’t you?” He murmured, crossing the distance between them with two strides, the heels of his leather boots making surprisingly little noise as he settled his weight down gingerly upon the ball of his foot, first.
He was beside her, taking a seat and drawing up a hand to her cheek, slightly calloused fingers playing over the soft flesh of the young mage, teasing and ghosting over her jaw and chin to finally guide her gaze to the side, then up. To meet his. “What’s the thing you want to know most? Can the other questions wait?” His eyes turned toward the door and he hummed. The sounds downstairs were dying down. The light of the moon poured through and showered the pair in its light. Fate turned his gaze back down to her. “Shouldn’t you be scurrying along back to your barracks by now? Spend any more time here and you’re gonna need to spend the night. Can’t have you out in the dark streets alone.”
She watched him, head turning slowly as he moved toward her; his steps were quiet in the room, just another thing that signified the kind of man he was. The kind with practiced steps made for sneaking around. It made her raise a little brow, but she had nothing to really say about it. She doubted either of them were really mistaken about the kind of man he was. All the more reason she shouldn't have been there. He was the sneaky sort, and she knew that.
After a moment, she glanced down, shying away from the touch briefly before peeking back up at him, lips rubbing together and turning them a bit more pink. “I want to know...” She drawled slowly, trying to pick the words out of her brain before she smiles a little, giving him a shy but moderately pleased look. “What’s your real name?” The mention of everything else reminds her that he’s right, she should be going-- but now, now she needs an answer. It’s something she didn’t think he’d expect, and now that she’s asked it-- she really wanted to know.
