@cardsheart || An old friend.
Opening the door to leave in such a haste, Yugi knew he would be attending in class again. The city was in fact, beautiful for his eyes to see or explore on his own. He has to focus on his education first. It seemed his adventures with Atem ended a few ages ago and life was... pretty average. Everyone else has gotten busy or moved on.
He knew he couldn’t forget Atem. That hurts a little on the inside when he left for the afterlife. Yes, the pain is still there for him to endure everyday but he kept a brave face while he wore a mask around his friends.
Looks like I’ll have to meet Ryou later. Yugi mused to himself as he darted forward, the boy doesn’t want to be late for class. Surely he hoped not to run into any of his ‘fans’ because of his Duel Monsters fame. He became famous because of his ‘aibou’.
In a quick run, Yugi may have bumped into someone else. A random stranger? The boy was sheepish and bowed down to him in apology. “I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to run into you. I’m going to be late for class.” He rambled quickly, he really does not want to be late. Yugi immediately regretted his actions after he realized who he just talked to.
Yugi doesn’t know how to take it. Atem was here before him. In flesh and soul, and in modern clothes? Please tell him it isn’t a dream. Yugi shook his head and blinked a few times. He has to know.
“This has to be a trick, right? Don’t lie to me! It took me MORE THAN a year to move on from that duel! YOU APPEARED ONCE TO SAVE US FROM HIS WRATH! DON’T YOU KNOW EVERYONE IS MOURNING FOR YOUR PASSING EVEN KAIBA IS UPSET!?!”
The boy sobbed while he tried not let his tears fall. He hated to admit but,
“Atem, I ... missed you.”
