Hmmmm might explore Jack's character a tad bit by making him Ruth's only friend. They're the two trades workers on the ship so they'd probs have some sort of relatability 🤔 can see him razzing her about the toaster acting up and her saying she's going to intentionally fuck it up to make it burn all his toast. Same with the coffee maker
He'd also start razzing the SHIT out of her when he finds out she's fucking Ava. Both her hype man and the friend that says "you better not get attached" bcs as much as he respects his Captain he knows she's not gonna suddenly start allocating her time to be more of a present partner for Ruth
