Coffee Shop Meetings

When he’d leant in for the kiss, August had every expectation of being pushed away by Edward, or at least having it ended rather abruptly and left as a chaste thing not to be continued and find himself hearing once more about how this was not what he wanted, or that he should be going to find one of his peers. So when he found that the other was not pushing him back, but seemed to actually encourage it, he continued the kiss, keeping it gentle but no less emotional.
Eventually he drew back, only a little and pressed his forehead to Ed’s own breathing a soft sigh between them of sheer joy. “That was as good as I thought it would be. Better even.” he murmured, voice quiet as he let his fingers trace in circles against Ed’s cheek. Part of him was tempted to lean in and try it again, but he knew that would be pushing his luck and he had the patience to wait. Besides, he was interested to see if Ed would initiate a similar gesture.
Drawing back, to sit in his half reclined position from before, he reached for his coffee cup, taking a sip, giving Edward the chance to decide on where he wanted to go from here. He wasn’t going to push for more until he had a gauge on how this initial action was faring with the other.
