Downpour
It had been a relatively glum and gloomy day so far, clouds overhead choking the sky with their thick filtering of the sun, leaving the world in a seemingly eternal shade. The presence of a downpour only proved to solidify that fact, as the natural beaten passages that sprawled the distances were quite unstable due to the water soaking into its integrity. Every footfall made by any creature left trails of prints along their paths, slowing progress and sapping strength from every step.
Moving along in the rain, the increasingly resident alien didn’t seem to pay too much heed to the weather and its effects on the world. Barefoot steps carried through the muck in a slow fashion, holding no desire to progress at anything more than a casual pace of one merely looking to travel from one location to another, yet things never seemed to go as smoothly as one’s original plans intend.
A sudden landslide was easy to notice despite the static noise that the downpour brought, though its presence did little to hinder the creature’s progress. All in all, the situation didn’t seem like much to pay any attention to…until, however, the alien happened to take notice of what the disruption brought. A rather hefty chunk of the land had split off from its edge, leaving nothing more than streaming pools of soaked earth, though with its decent carried what seemed to be another fuzzy creature, if not shorter in stature.
The image of a fallen Yordle was impossible to ignore as the accompanying extraterrestrial standing just over six feet down was something of a rare sight to stumble upon out of the blue. With nary another moment’s hesitation, the taller of the two knelt down into the puddle for the sake of triage. A bare, white-furred hand reached down with a pair of fingers to gently press under the Yordle’s jawline, testing for anything that could be particularly salvaged from this cold, wet situation.
