A pair decided to rob a store with watermelons on their heads. I never thought Captain Melonhead would have fallen so far.
So Iâve posted about three colorings of @aaronhamm / @trollerskates / @ffunseen âs amazing FusionFall artworks, and gave them a few touch ups to match the futuristic and more superhero-esque aesthetic of my fanfiction: Cartoon Network Universe: Earth One.
This time though, I tried my hand at the style from scratch.
Thatâs right. This is no Virt sketch, no NicDraws commission either. This is my own original artwork, adapted from the character of Jonny 2x4 from Ed Edd n Eddy, or as heâs known here...Melonhead.
The part Iâm most proud of at this point in time is the upgrades I gave to the original Melonhead design, specifically swapping out his mop with a Swiffer. Absolutely genius. Iâm not usually a bragging sort of person, but thatâs one of the few cases of me shedding my modesty. It really works for his sidekick Plank.
As always, I tried staying true to the FF style as much as possible, this time taking greater notice of how the masters like Virt, Nic, Midori, and Devan line and shade the outer areas of the characters; specifically, I noticed that their shading and lighting is a lot more harsh than I initially believed. What I came up with isnât anywhere near that, but Iâll keep trying with this style until itâs perfect.

Hey there! I was going through your different versions of Ed, Edd, n Eddy, such as your Japanese and Arabic versions. I had an interesting idea for a new version of the cast based on the episode 'Robbin' Ed,' where everyone is either an actual superhero or villain. Jonny is already Captain Melonhead and Eddy would naturally be Professor Scam, but everyone else could have their own powers and allegiances to good or evil. Thoughts?
