and they talk about gender and everything else really and maya is a little bit the blind leading the blind when she’s sheltered herself but she teaches zer0 everything she knows about human culture and they go wikipedia diving together and are there for each other

my newest darling is trans guy cole and adorable cis ally zeke, thanks to a friend who planted that shit in my head. i love cole and zeke’s friendship to begin with so throwing in cole being trans and zeke being supportive in hilarious ways just makes me smile so bad. zeke helping cole pick out a new name for himself. zeke finding cole’s packer and being like “brother why is your dick bigger than mine”. cole throwing his packer at zeke and smacking him in the face with it and zeke being like “OW MAN DON’T THROW YOUR DICK AT ME THAT’S NOT COOL” while cole is laughing his ass off

basically as with all my headcanons i am into ridiculous fluffy bullshit scenarios. lmfao. whenever i see trans portrayals theyre usually dysphoria-focused which is totally ok its just not something i relate to as much i guess.

trans cole also meshes nicely with non-binary alex, alex who is a dumb weird baby virus who doesnt really understand human gender and just kind of uses the name alex and the presentation because it’s what he’s used to but doesn’t identify with being ‘male’, who gets increasingly depressed about not being male nor female and feeling isolated from the rest of humanity (alex brooding over not being human, whats new) until he uses the google and finds out its ok to be something else and it doesnt mean he isnt human

cole coming out to him and alex is just like “…ok” because hes a dumb weird baby virus and didnt see anything wrong with cole’s bodily configuration in the first place

thanks to a tumblr post i read awhile back (idk who authored it.. maybe it was monetizeyourcat or maybe she just reblogged it) i am also incredibly fond of trans woman karkat vantas who finally figured out why she feels so frustrated all the time. karkat who keeps her name because its not an unusual name for a woman in troll culture, karkat who is vicious and strong and caring, who realizes those things dont necessarily have to clash and that its ok to let yourself be vulnerable instead of putting thorns up around yourself all the time

i guess the natural extension of that thought because i ship dave/karkat is for dave to be the most awkward baby ally which initially pisses karkat off more but she ends up opening up to him for reasons she doesnt even understand and dave doesnt make fun, he just listens, and gives his stupid dudebro advice that isnt really applicable when he’s from a completely different culture but it helps to hear anyway and its more palatable than the extremely dry books on gender theory rose alchemized

and maybe dave comes and sits awkwardly on the meteor’s communal asscushion or whatever trolls call a sofa while karkat is watching the troll analogue of Hitch in which troll will smith helps bumbling lowblood troll kevin james romance a highblood etc and has the sudden horrible realization that he’s a little bit in love with this weird alien girl who is all rough edges and restrained feelings and angry punctuation
