Capitol Reef National Park
Driving Utah Scenic Highway 12 ended up being one of my favorite parts of our Utah trip. We stopped at overlooks, drove The Hogback, and saw scenery that changed around every corner. If you're headed between Bryce Canyon and Capitol Reef, don't rush this drive.

Dispersed Camping Cook's Mesa - near Capitol Reef National Park, UT
We have camped at this location several times, it is just outside of the west entrance to Capitol Reef National Park and just east of Torrey, UT. A great location for accessing the park. The last time we stayed here there were port-a-potties, not this time, wonder why they decided to remove them? Probably became a bit too much to manage with all the budget cuts. Bummer, because a lot of people car and tent camp in this area and it kept things a lot cleaner. We are going to be here for a week, time to do a little more hiking in one of our favorite parks.
