More Android-Google b.s. coming to a phone near you?
Has anyone else heard about Android closing android phones - by which I mean forcefully downloading an update on their phones in September (?) 2026 that is supposed to prevent you from downloading "non verified" apps? Ie. apps that haven't paid a fee, and/or apps which they don't want you to have (so, I'm guessing based on Google's prior behavior, stuff like ad-blockers? and eventually competing browsers like Firefox?).
And, to add insult to injury, they're dressing it up as "security" - what utter bullsh!t.
I just heard about this today, and I am currently furious.

it genuinely pisses me off when beloved museums and environmental nonprofits do cruel mass layoffs to bust unions and then make cutesy "come help save the world!" job posts to lure in the next disposable crop of passionate people who will work for less pay until they burn out or get laid off too 🙃

okay, guys, i know fútbol is not political (except it is), but i gotta be fucking honest. futbol is a corrupt sport because fifa is corrupt, there's a lot of money in it, like a lot, we're talking billionaries type of money, alright? it's also full of either zionists, class traitors, racists, wife beaters or all the above. i know that we love the sport but we have to be conscious of that. i also know that fútbol fans are kinda crazy (yes, i do include myself in that category) and are willing to die defending their team. the thing is that is kinda hard being a fútbol fan if you're woke (for lack of a better term), because you have to try to reconcile with all of those things i mentioned before. fútbol is also not a monolith and there are great players who are not pieces of shit.
all this to say that I've been seeing a lot of tension on my dash, which is something that i fucking loathe to see especially because we are brown and/or latinos, we are from the global south, perpetually oppressed and sacked by the so called "white" empires, that's why the world cup honestly feels like a battlefield and an open wound.
i honestly not even sure what am i trying to say anymore. but like just remember that you can keep supporting fútbol but doing it blindly is not only stupid but also dangerous. keep being critical and don't fall into the trap of proud nationalism in the name of an organization that continues to exploit people (men AND women), engages in corruption openly and is capable of associating itself with fascist governments. enjoy the sport, but maybe don't die for fifa?
