Hi there! I was just wondering your take on something, or what the correct answer would be because I'm not sure. I've got one character whose name the reader doesn't learn until the third act, but she has a nickname almost everyone uses. Her best friend knew her before the nickname stuck and so calls her "No Name." I'm just wondering how that might be capitalized in the middle of a sentence; like, "I'm sorry, [No Name, No name, or no name], I just can't do that"?
I thought this was going to be an easy question, Â but then everything I wrote looked wrong. Iâve never been very good at grammar. Â
However I have consulted the Oracle, and JK Rowling uses âHe Who Must Not Be Named.â  Which means you should use âNo Name.â It feels right because itâs a place holder for their name, which makes those words collectively into a noun, to represent her. Â
So your example would be: âIâm sorry, No Name, I just canât do that!âÂ
Excellent question! Â Glad to be of help, keep it up! :)Â
