                              it’s so important to me that rey’s kindness is not something that makes her weak. if anything it’s what empowers her, gives her strength. i oft relate her to wolves in my writing due to the connotations tied with them, both good & bad, which rey emulates ( she is light & dark, empathy & apathy, gentle & savage. ) & when it comes to wolven connotations  —  rey embodies loyalty, she’s a protector. if she trusts you then she would do anything for you & remain by your side until the ends of the earth. but she’s also ferocious, there’s an untamed wilderness about her & that kind of animalistic nature coupled with this burning & constant kindness is so dangerous. she’ll help an innocent & fight for her friends until it kills her, but if you prove yourself an enemy then she will blast a hole into your skull.

                  tl;dr she’s got blood on her hands, there’s a sharpness to them but she’s discerning with it. her kindness isn’t a ploy or an act, it’s genuine & it’s such a pure thing in contrast to the cruelty she’s survived.  lincoln on the 100 has a line “the world has been trying to turn me into a monster for as long as i can remember” which i really relate to rey, because this is essentially what has happened  —-  unkar plutt goading her into selling bb-8, jakku’s merciless lands which could turn anyone mad, snoke whispering in her ear to kill kylo  —-  constant outside forces trying to turn her hard & every time she fights it because of her compassion & her hope & empathy.
