With Nikki tucked up in bed and the rest of the crew lost on the road, Mitch and I woke at the crack of dawn to tackle the crazy rivers of Da Lat - Canyoning!!! 

We were jammed into a van true vietnamese style and hauled off to the top of the falls. We began our adventurous day with a 16 metre dry abseil and a 5 metre jump. After floating down-current in our funky lifejackets we completed 2 waterslides down the rock covered rapids. 

  Following a scrumptious lunch we trampled through the bush only to emerge at the top of a monstrous 25 metre pounding waterfall! Hearts racing we removed our shoes for better grip in socks and commenced the descent down the super slippery rocks! The first half was a breeze, followed by intense non-stop water punching you in the face! You are than instructed to let go of all ropes and drop the last 4 metres into the base of the waterfall. 

 After leaping off another 7 or 11 metre jump we stumbled across our last challenge - The Washing Machine! dum dum dum! This waterfall is a cliff face that disappears after abseiling down 6 metres. You are then left dangling in mid-air on the way to belaying yourself into a thunderous tube of water slithered amongst two cliff faces. You drop at the end of the rope into a whirlpool of doom and emerge from the water 10 metres down. Keen as a bean Mitch raised his hand for first to take on the Washing Machine, with myself taking out first girl! Go Kiwis!! 

  After a killer tramp back up to the van we returned to the hostel to find chocolatey treats on our bed! Nikki had not only cleaned her bike, got an oil change but had stopped in at Big C Supermarket! What a Gem! The night followed with us hitting the legendary passionfruit mojitos and the rest is a blur!

J’ai eu une idée, merveillllleuuuuse! Bon, peut être qu’elle ne fera plaisir qu’à moi, mais je trouve que c’est déjà pas mal :) Tous les Samedi, je mettrais en ligne ma bouille en Polaroïd ! (more…)
