Although we talked about it last night, I was 99% sure when I walked into the 11 year old’s room at 5:05am to ask him if he still wanted to go fishing... The answer was not going to be discernible and he would roll back over to pick up wherever his dream was cut off. . “Yea dad. I REALLY wanna go.” he said. 15 minutes later we found ourselves heading east down Interstate 40. . “Dad? Casey Niestat is really built for living in New York City.” “Dad? How much farther?” “Dad? Do you think we will catch anything?” “DAD! LOOK AT THE SUNRISE!!!” . And as soon as the sun began to peek over the horizon, we both fell silent as God had taken over the conversation at that point. . We caught one fish today. It was within the first 5 minutes of stepping foot into the water. Losiah’s playful spirit is basically a disaster for trying to catch trout… But it’s a carnival for the heart of a father who knows that his son lost sleep for just one reason… . To spend time with his father. . Even if the time spent isn’t the most poetic. Even if the time spent isn’t the most coordinated. Even if the time spent isn’t the most reverent and everyone around you runs off. Your desire to spend time with your Father means the world to Him.
