The ONLY thing that rivaled their #Love was their mutual love & addiction towards #Heroin, which they could never get enough of. 💉💞 Those days that were once “bountiful” like juice would soon become sour, because not every love tales remains eternally delicious, sweet, and blissful, especially when one’s addictions spirals out-of-control, as it certainly does for Dan & Candy in Luke Davies & Neil Geoffrey Armfield’s Romance/Drama, “Candy” (2006). 🍭💏💘 ...Having read (and reviewed) Mr.Davies’ novel of the same, which I absolutely LOVE, and having dealt with my own addictions growing up, it’s no surprise that the 2006 #Film adaptation of “Candy: A Novel of Love & Addiction” (1998), has such an IMPORTANT place in my heart! ☺️ Like Luke Davies’ real-life struggles with love & addiction, particularly with Megan Bannister... Mr.Davies’ first wife who he had a VERY chaotic & destructive, yet passionate & intimate relationship with, Dan & Candy share a similarly chaotic, destructive, passionate, and intimate relationship. One that’s either fueled by their genuine love & infatuation for one another, or the drugs they take... heroin, to be more precise. Whatever it was, Dan & Candy truly did love each other. As frustrating and a pain in the a** as they can be towards the other, especially Dan towards Candy (she gets physically violent with him! Haha), their love was every bit as addictive as the heroin they used so blissfully. Heath Ledger & Abbie Cornish were absolutely PHENOMENAL!!! 😍 Geoffrey Rush as Casper was a most DELIGHTFUL SCENE-STEALER!!! 😄👏🏻 I suppose I’m as #Addicted to both the book & the film as Dan/Luke & Candy/Megan were to each other, and that in the words of Candy ...”is so f**king beautiful!”. 😌 #Candy2006 #CandyANovelOfLoveAndAddiction #DanAndCandy #LukeDavies #MeganBannister #LukeAndMegan #Romance #Drama #Lovetale https://www.instagram.com/p/B_wVq_sjdet/?igshid=1fsglggqnjbmn
