I don’t care how expensive your sleeping bag is.If you’re sleeping on a bad pad, you’re going to freeze. I learned this the hard way after multiple “why am I awake at 3am questioning my life choices” winter trips. The cold doesn’t come from the air. It comes from the ground stealing your body heat all night. Once I switched to a proper insulated sleeping pad, winter camping finally made sense.Actual sleep. No numb hips.
