Downtown bustled with activity as Malik strolled through the familiar streets. The echoes of the recent storm were fading, leaving behind a town in the slow process of recovery. Lost in his thoughts, Malik rounded a corner and nearly collided with someone—Cameron. The surprise on Malik's face was mirrored in Cameron's eyes as they locked onto each other.

"Cameron?" Malik's voice held a mix of disbelief and genuine warmth. It had been a while since they'd crossed paths, especially after the chaos of the storm. "How have you been holding up?" Malik's eyes scanned Cameron's face, noting the subtle changes since their last encounter.

Sitting on the couch behind the glass, Sydney watched Cameron finish up a take while she blew on the steaming mug of tea in her hands. When he'd asked her to join him at the studio, Sydney knew it was to try and cheer her up. But, since she didn't want to be in her condo alone right now, Sydney was more than glad to take him up on his offer. The holidays were hard this year; it was her first year without Jesse, and the anniversary of his death was coming up in January. At home, she only let her thoughts and grief make her spiral, but here at his studio she could try to focus on her friend recording another take and how good he sounded. When the tech behind the booth told Cameron that was a good take and he could come out for a break, Sydney uncurled her legs on the couch and reached for the hot drink she'd made for him. Standing up, Sydney held out the mug to him and attempted to give him a warm smile. "You sound amazing."
