Yeah, that’s right boys

(I warned you, the colors are an eyesore 😭)

As I’ve mentioned before, this design is inspired by Ukrainian, Bulgarian, and Middle Eastern clothing.

The neck piece is a Lemko seed bead necklace

The face paint is inspired by Croatian hand tattoos and North African face tattoos- they serve as blessings, and different symbols mean different things. The line down his chin is standard (almost all elves wake up in the morning, say their prayer and draw their chin line), a blessing from Vrasuta the sun goddess, and the symbol on his forehead is a blessing of luck (most soldiers use this one)

The armor on the arms is inspired by middle age middle eastern armor- “beetle shell armor” very hard and matte armor plates that are both decorative and functional

The pants and shirt are inspired by vyshyvakna (as well as the sash)- If I could change one thing about this drawing, it would be to make the sash less ugly, and reverse the blue and white

The boots I saw only once on a drawing of a Bulgarian folk outfit (I apologize I do not remember what they are called) - but I think that they would be “sand boots”, very light and airy, yet it’s almost impossible for sand to get in

My AU takes place in a 1940s-1950’s setting, so I added a couple of more “modern” touches, like an army chest vest and some… I don’t know what to call them, leather bracers?

His signature weapons are two retractable Shashkas which channel his stone power. He was always sent on stealth missions, so long range weapons aren’t really his forte

Throughout my sketches I write his name as Tręlis (tree-less), which is his name in my AU, but I’ll keep using his canon name in my posts so I don’t confuse anyone.

Anyways, Luger is now known as Lugźer Bagoslavi, cousin of Oj Książę Tręlis (Prince Trellis).

He is around 40 years old, and holds a high position within the military.

His wife Wele Bagoslavi is also someone of considerable power. She is one of the Bidma, the Czar’s personal guard, known as “sun witches” by the human countries.

They have a daughter, Želi, who is 16. Him having a family makes his turn to the “light” shall we say, have more of an impact. He is just one example of many elves who are fighting in the war for their familys’ sake. He’s also bought into a lot of the propaganda his uncle spews.

Stones in Gulfeńn are a lot more common, since it is where most of them were made (that’s why Silas was so revered, he was able to make his very own stone without the need of the motherstone, and then proceeded to not share how with anyone).

So when Lugźer climbed the social ladder to General, he was given one to compensate his rank.

When Emily beats him and kills his stone, it send a shockwave of pure power through him, rendering his legs useless. This way Tręlis can still find him in need of help, without him turning into an entirely different character.

(I’ve sort of based his personality off of my own dad because they both love to cook, and idk I want my Luger to be apart of the sassy man apocalypse)

One last thing, his colors are green, red, and yellow. I’ll get back to using colored pencils in a bit when I have the energy.

These are the two main deities of the Zoruską pantheon. One the left is Dzikaje, goddess of the moon, and on the right is her lover Czja, goddess of the sun.

(Note: Dzikaje’s skin is green and Czja’s skin is blue. This is abnormal for elves, as their skin is usually different shades of gray. Just thought I’d clear that up)

Dzikaje’s domain is life, tranquility, and the knowledge of your inner self. She is also the goddess of fertility, and her symbol is a wasp.

Czja’s domain is death, fire, and war. She is depicted pretty tame in this drawing, because I was trying to work out their designs, but I imagine her being a lot scarier in the eyes of the Gulfeńnian citizens. Her symbol is a cobra.

These two deities were said to have created the world. They made the Thunderbird (I think that’s what it’s called in the books), who brought rain that made the plants grow. They made the elves, and all the other gods in the pantheon.

Instead of the Kanalis curse I imagine there being specifically a cat race. Also Idk why but I always read Enzo’s lines in a Chicago accent, so Kanalis is now Alledia’s Little Italy.

I’m thinking of calling them Gattosi (‘cause the word for cat in Italian is Gatto… I thought I was being clever 😭).

Leon is more difficult, because… I like him being a Fox but… I already have a human design for him… and I’m sorry guys, he doesn’t have red hair. No beard though 💪

God these posts are so rambley, but I’m on a roll these past few days.

Also, I picked my major 🎉 (I forgot if I said this already or not), but I’m going into education! I want to be a High School English teacher! I have my classes picked out, and I have a scholarship that pays for the first two years of community college!!!
