"Calypto is a fiery winged horse born from the will of the demigod Skatrasha. When Skatrasha submitted to Elloras will, Calypto was left to fend for itself."
She Loves Me So (Chapter 1)
Summary: Calypto is a cat who's falling in love, but her past is tying her down with unbreakable chains. The only way to allow herself to fall truly for Kayla is to walk down a sickening a dark road, a road called her past. Will Calypto be able to realize where she went wrong?
---
Chapter 1
Calypto sat against the aged oak, staring up into the iridescent sky. Her thoughts were endless, she thought, endless and incomprehensible. And it was all because of that girl, that girl that ran around her mind like the spinning of a record sending melodies throughout her brain.
She chuckled quietly to herself, her whiskers twitching in delight as thoughts of Sky hit her once more. That girl made the world so much more infinite, so much more.. Incredible. And yet things hadn't always been this way, Calypto hadnt always had this crush and this hope and this dream. No, things had once been much more dark.
---
Calypto giggled as leaves hit her nose and purple fur. It was leaf fall, which was normally a dreaded season because of Training, and yet she found herself so immersed in the beauty of it all. The way that these trees and leaves transformed from pastel greens to striking oranges just seemed to be something that could never be put into words quite right. Everything just sort of exploded with unique shades of amber that there were not enough words to describe them, and it was beautiful.
Calypto began her lonely walk to Training as the autumn wind began to pick up and send humid chills down the she-cat's spine. She had lost her best friend a few moons ago because of a petty argument (she couldn’t even recall the reasoning behind it) and now she had no cat, and everything was freezing.
It was terrifying, she thought, the way you could have so much safety only for it to melt between your claws moments later. She had spent her entire life just trying to keep one person by her side, and she thought she could count on Anna at the least, but now it appeared she was alone again. This was confirmed when Calypto stepped into the Hollow and shot Anna a friendly smile, but the orange she-cat turned away. Calypto's tail drooped.
The Hollow was a huge dip in the ground that was many tree lengths long, too many to count. There were trees surrounding it, making it secure and safe from the many predators of the forest. Every leaf-fall, every cat until the age of 100 moons went there to train and prepare for the dangers of adulthood, and every Greenleaf every cat got a break until leaf-fall claimed the forest once more.
Calypto was 70 moons now, her training almost complete, leaving her to begin making her decision of what she wanted her role to be in the Tribe. Only one tribe ruled the forest, the Sunflower tribe, and every cat got along in harmony. The only mishaps were various arguments amongst fellow tribe members, such as Calypto's falling out with Anna, but other than there was not much to complain about. The forest was full of prey and beauty, and every cat had learned over the moons to be amiable and caring for one another. Thus, there was peace.
Calypto sat at the edge of the group of cats, feeling oddly out of place. For the first time in awhile, Calypto didn’t have any cat to talk to on the first day of Training, and that was a very lonely feeling indeed. Looking around hopefully, Calypto spotted two kind looking she-cats that seemed oddly familiar. Determined not be alone, Calypto padded toward the two she-cats.
"...And I don't really know, David Tennant's pretty cool," one of them, a royal blue and black striped cat, meowed thoughtfully. Calypto's ears perked up.
"David Tennant? You watch Doctor Who?" She mewed excitably. The she-cat who had spoken opened her mouth to reply, but the other cat, an orange and black tabby, interjected rudely: "Yes! Matt Smith's the greatest, don't you think?"
"He's my second favorite, David Tennant's my first, but shh! I'm only on season 6!" Calypto meowed impatiently. The orange tabby giggled.
"Well, what's your name?" She asked, drawing a paw over her whiskers.
"I'm Calypto, you?"
"My name's Strike, and this," the orange tabby gestured to the taller, blue cat, "is Constellation."
"Hi, nice to meet you guys," Calypto purred. "Do you guys mind if I talk with you?"
"Not at all! Constellation, do you m-" but as Strike turned to ask her friend, she found that Constellation had walked away with her tail dragging across the floor. Only now did Calypto remember the hollow, shaky look in Constellation's eyes when she'd approached, almost as if she had nothing left. Calypto was about to pad after her and make sure she was alright when she saw Constellation talking to a rosy she-cat who she recognized as Flower. Strike frowned.
"They're always on top of each other," she scoffed. Calypto was taken aback, but smiled a bit.
"Almost like they're worshipping each other," Calypto chuckled. Strike guffawed.
"Good one! Hey, Flower! Constellation! Stop worshipping each other, would you?" Strike giggled. Calypto laughed with her. Some cat yowled in the distance, and Calypto knew it was time to go.
"Talk to you sometime?" Strike meowed, smiling hopefully. Calypto grinned.
"Totally."
And then they were on their separate ways, Calypto feeling a bit happier with every pawstep.
This so old, cringes
