milo came to calypso bay when he decided he wanted to travel. he sold just about everything he owned and left the small town he grew up in. it hadn’t been the plan to stay in calypso for this long. but he fell in love with the beach and can’t really bring himself to leave.

art has always been a really big part of his life. his mother was a painter and his father a photographer. growing up around creative people kind of rubbed off on him. a love of doodling and drawing mixed with a love of tattoos led him to become a tattoo artist.

milo lives a pretty minimalist lifestyle. he has a small studio with very little personal possessions. he’d much rather spend his money on experiences over stuff.

he loves to surf and spend time at the beach when he isn’t working. 

Swearing is like breathing to him. He tried to keep in to a minimum in professional settings but it usually doesn’t go well.

em’s mother died when she was just a baby. leaving her to be raised by a single father. for the most part, it was a pretty normal up brings. though emelia’s more girly nature always seemed to make it hard for her to connect with him. causing her to be hyper-focused on being the perfect daughter to make him happy.

em is extremely hard on herself about just about everything. she will never settle for just okay. it always has to be perfect. which makes her a little intense for most people.

her constant need for control and perfection has ended a lot of relationships for her. making her a little numb to the idea of romance. though she is a hopeless romantic deep down.

she doesn’t do well in most social situations. but she’s learned to fake it at this point. hiding the awkwardness and discomfort behind a pretty smile.

sometimes she links about leaving calypso bay. but doesn’t know where she would go. so she’s just stayed put.

Willa is short for Willamena. They were named after their grandmother. It isn’t often that Willa shares their full name. Mostly because it makes them sound like a character out of peter pan. and they hate it.

Willa loves the ocean and all the creatures in it. They spend a lot of time working with conservation groups. Making websites for them or writing about them on their blog.

They enjoy the company of animals over most humans. That doesn’t mean they don’t want to help people. They just find it easier to deal with an animal over people. people can be too stuck in their ways and uptight for them sometimes.

Since as long as Willa can remember, they haven’t really stayed in one place for very long. Even as a child, their mother moved them around a lot. The older darling saw life as one big adventure which was passed down to Willa. They have been all over the world at this point. 

Willa isn’t sure how long they are going to be in Calypso Bay. It's just a stop on their life journey. But over the last few months, they have really come to love it.

bio:

Born Rakesh Singh in 1721 on a ship that was crossing the Atlantic Ocean, his family was aboard when it was attacked by the English. Everyone on the ship was captured or killed. An English soldier took pity on the young baby and brought him home. Renamed Zedediah Darrow, the young child grew up with their new family and moved to the Caribbean after a few years in London. Once old enough, Zed started working on the docks. They went from ship to ship as a dock hand. With each ship, Zed was treated poorly until he found one captain that treated him the same as the rest of the crew. Captain Allistar of The Red Rose, took Zed under his wing when their family no longer supported them. Zed blindly followed Allistar’s every word. After a year into piracy, Zed found out his Captain was a vampire. It didn’t change Zed’s views on Allistar and they too wanted to become one. With a lot of convincing and the Red Rose being under attack, Allistar changed Zed and let them loose on the other ship. After Zed changed, Allistar wasn’t the kind caring captain with daily punishments until Zed had enough and left on their own. 

On their own for a few decades, Zed traveled around America keeping a low profile among the humans. Until the early 20th century, Zed was on his own. A traveling circus crossed their path. The ringmaster, Anika, was a vampire that Zed instantly fell for. So they dropped everything to join this circus. History repeated itself with Anika and she used Zed for her own personal uses. But this time once Anika was done with Zed, she dumped them in nowhere. Zed had heard of a small town nearby with a famous hotel for supernaturals. Zed found Calypso Cove and Hotel la Lune.

jeremy actually has kind of a secret background. he doesn’t like revealing his past. mainly because he doesn’t want people’s perception of him to be different.

mainly it’s because he comes from a REALLY rich family who were really elite and were socialites. he was the eldest in his family, so he had the most responsibility to always look and act the best. 

but jeremy HATED this. he felt suffocated and he wanted to just be his relax fun-loving self. 

so, on his 18th birthday, he dropped the bomb that he’d be moving out. this really shocked his parents because it came out of nowhere. 

obviously they didn’t approve of it, but jeremy was adamant. in the end, they were just worried for him so they offered him some money so he could get on his feet. 

buthe didn’t want any of their help, so for a year he had side jobs in order to get enough money to move out. 

now, he moved to calypso bay and is living what he thinks is the best life he has ever had. no parental supervision, no need to always smile and wave, and he could just do whatever he wants.

he’s basically a bit cocky, especially since he was raised to always be the best at everything. he’s also kind of childish since this is his first time to actually have fun, since he was always needed at parties as a kid, robbing him of his childhood. this also meant that he has somewhat of a hard time interacting with people, always having a kind of script on what to say whenever he talked to his parent’s socialite friends

but don’t get him wrong, he’s very loyal and he’s not one to break promises. he’s super passionate about music as well, which is why he totally loves his job.

he owns an acoustic guitar, a ukelele, a snare drum, and a harmonica. but he also knows how to play the piano because his mom made him have lessons.
