I can still remember what the air smelled like and recall the enlightening experience I had listening to beach fossils alone in my big empty room, with the lights on, on those nights after the nerve wrecking days spent at work having still felt new to the unit. I can remember my mindset that time last year too. I wasn't worried about anything like I am now, with my time almost being done and being let go back into the civilian world,, I was just lonely... and I had a burning desire to go to the beach. Every weekend I would want to go to Cali so bad and spend just one evening at least at the beach in Huntington. I wanted a bon fire spent with just friends.. and you. A thousand other scenarios played in my mind spent over you but while beach fossils would play in my room I would think about that. As the songs would play I would have scenarios that lasted months all from one song that told the story. A part of me has not let go of that part of time last year. Spring is going to start soon and a part of me is still stuck in last year's. I've been dragging with me what was and what could have been for the last year. I've been ready to leave it all behind but these gray days have been all I've known for 3 seasons. I need an exorcist for this demon to get out, or an angel sent to save me.
