35: “I had a nightmare about you, and I just wanted to make sure you were okay.”
50: “Do you trust me?”
54: “You’re cute when you’re worried.”
You immediately regretting leaving your ringer on high when the blaring tune buzzed through the small bedroom. It didn’t just wake you up but jolted you from bed. You recognized Calum’s picture, immediately answering on what was only the second ring.
“Y/N?” He fretted, “You there?”
“Yeah. What’s wrong?”
“Are you okay?” He asked.
“Yes,” you stated, a bit confused.
“Are you sure? Do you need me to come get you? I can come get you if you need me to,” he panicked.
“Calum, what are you talking about?” His tone began to worry you and you wondered why he has called so late and in such a panic.
“The-The party. Are you drunk? I can come get you.”
“What party? Cal, I’m home in my bed.”He let out a heavy sigh of relief and you frowned. “What’s going on?” you asked.
“I had a nightmare about you and I just wanted to make sure you were okay.”
You smiled, shaking your head. “Do you want to talk about it?”
“You were at a party and you… someone asked to take you home because you were drinking and you said okay but they were really drunk too and th-they crashed. And you didn’t have a seatbelt on and-” he sniffled and you quickly shushed him assuring him he was okay.
“Do you trust me?” you asked.
“Yes. Of course; that’s a stupid question.”
“Well, then I can promise you I will never ever ever get in a car with someone who’s drunk. And I’d never drive a car drunk myself.”
“I know,” he breathed. “I’m sorry to wake you it was just… so vivid.”
“It’s okay,” you comforted. “You’re cute when you’re worried.”
“We should go back to bed,” He chuckled, but his voice was laced with nervousness.
“I can stay on the phone Cal, until we both fall asleep.”
“Will you?” He perked up.
“Sure. As long as it helps you get back to sleep.”
“Thank you. Have I told you how much I love you?”
“Only at least twice a day,” you teased, settling down into bed once again. “Goodnight, Cal”
