So, I made the mistake of talking about Cal with my best friend. Then I came home and made the mistake of reading every Cal/Sophie scene in Demonglass and Spell Bound. Then I cried. Then I was struck by the fact that there are so few times in our lives when characters affect us that deeply, and I welcomed he tears. Then I realized that Cal is the epitome of a "normal" person. Not everyone gets a happy ending. Not everyone gets a chance to tell the person they love that they DO love them. Some people hold it in forever. And they let the person they love move on, never knowing what might have happened if they had just admitted it. Frick, I'm crying again. I wrote a huge chunk of an essay about Cal. I could honestly go on forever.
