Okay @cursedkaze thank you for offering me an opportunity about my fucked up genderbent au for Bruce and Talia.
So there's version 1, which is the version presented above. She knows she had a baby, she thinks said baby is dead. And yeah, there's a lot of shitty depression going on here, and she does feel like her body is inherently tainted. It's fun, and I do play with it sometimes.
My second, more fun version, is the version where she has the baby and Ra's finds out about it. He knows that she won't let him keep the baby in the league. And he wants that baby. And fem Bruce is... in a weird position with Ra's who has ancient sexism tbh.
So he gets a magician. (There have got to be some in the League, right? It's huge.) Anyway, that magician spells her while she's still recovering from the immediate aftermath of childbirth (he had to move in quick because if he let her recover she would fight tooth and nail for that kid). Anyway, the magician removes her memories in a very precise way. She does not remember being pregnant. (And there's maybe a secondary spell that keeps her from realizing something is wrong.) Anyway, she is left post partum and alone and doesn't even know she's post partum.
I just like to chew at the idea of post partum fem Bruce and the inherent body horror of your body not being the way you recognize, the way you could have sworn it was on moments before. And the foggy head feeling of feeling confused but not able to acknowledge that something similar wrong because the very idea of thinking something is wrong is blocked from your mind.
You cannot think something is wrong.
Anyway, fem Bruce is my outlet for this narrative because the circumstances works really well for me to play with this. This might be brain vomit but.
