Walking San Francisco & Thinking Out Loud August 22, Post 2 - Sunrise for the Birds . Yesterday morning I picked pier 7 to photograph sunrise. Best choice would have been Ina Coolbrith park because there was a break up on Russian Hill in the fog mixed with ash from the fires. Instead of shooting sunrise I started tracking pelicans, seagulls and boats. You can see the rose colored hue on the Transamerica Pyramid, on other buildings and on San Francisco Bay. This is from the sun shining through, or reflecting off of, the fog mixed with ash and particulate matter from all the fires burning out of control everywhere here in California.. . If you live in the Bay Area the soundest advice I can give is to be alert and prepared, especially with lightning storms forecasted, potentially, tonight and tomorrow night (kron4weather). .
