Things were good. Everything was better. The wedding was done and over with, Caleigh was recovering just fine... it seemed as though the world was getting back on track after that hurricane. Except it wasn’t, because the guilty conscious on Calvin was wearing heavy and it was becoming so prominent that he couldn’t quite ignore it for too long. He had kept the secret for so long, two whole years, but the presence of his father thick in the air and harming what was good was pushing him to the edge. So much so, that Calvin was pretty sure that Caleigh could sense it. The last thing he had wanted was for her to take it personally, to think it might have been her, but he couldn’t quite spit the words up before his throat closed off all together. Now that Declan had actually shown his face at the bakery rather than stalked it, it was on the tip of his tongue. So, he sat there and remained silently when he took the corner of the couch, near the brunette and close enough for him to lay a hand over her knee. “I’m sorry about today.” He murmured, a bit tense, licking over his lips. “You okay?”
