Please answer the following questions in the voice of your selected character.

Why do you believe your wand chose you?

I did some reading up on this when Da and I first got my wand. Applewood isn’t used too often—I don’t even know anyone else who’s got one—but it’s supposed to be the sign of someone with loads of ambitions and high ideals. And, and, I guess that’s part of why Da pushed me so hard when I first got to Hogwarts. I thought it was a load of crock back then, but now that I’ve, I’ve got what I want to do in mind, it makes more sense. My wand must have seen my aptitude with creatures, long before I did, and known I’d do something great. Plus, dragon heartstring is pretty badass and it makes a lot of sense for someone who wants to work with magical creatures to have it.

Do you believe you were sorted correctly?

Of course. Maybe not during those first few months, but Slytherin is the best house for me. We’re just as brave, loyal, and smart as the other houses, we’re just more willing to reach out and make our dreams a reality. And I’m going to make mine real too.

When casting the Patronus Charm, which happy memory would you focus on?

I’ve never had to cast one outside of my studies for the NEWT’s, but I focus on the first time I got to work with a hippogriff. They’re higher up class XXX creatures and, you know, standard levels for third years are XX creatures and maybe a Niffler or a Jarvey if you want to wade into that end of the classification scale. Sorry, rambling. But, uh, Professor Hagrid encouraged me to give working with the hippogriff he keeps around his garden a go. And, it was one of the most amazing experiences of my life. The amount of respect and dignity that those creatures have—it was awe-inspiring, honestly. And I got to stroke its feathers; it was honestly the best moment I ever had. Cos everything just fell into place. I knew that working with creatures was what I wanted to do.

How do you feel your time at Hogwarts has affected you as a person?

It’s been an up and down sort of experience. For the first three years, I didn’t really have any direction and I wasn’t sure how I was going to live up to… everything. And when I found Care of Magical creatures, it gave me a path to follow, which really helped me focus and develop the drive that had been missing from my life. And then, I sort of sprouted like 6 inches before summer and Da had me start working out, so now people are looking at me? Looking up to me, maybe? It’s changed me, a lot. I’m definitely not the kid I started out as. But, my friends are still the same ones I’ve had from the beginning and I think that’s what matters most.
