So, three years ago, my dad left my mom. The only thing that got me through being a million miles away from my family during this difficult time was A Goofy Movie. I ended up watching it like a hundred times in the following few weeks. Seeing Max and Goofy struggle to relate to each other's ideals and dreams and goals helped me cope with my disappointment in my father and his choices.I saw Goofy make sacrifices to relate and embrace Max, even though Max had lied to him. Goofy recognizes that his son isn't who he thought he was- nobody is ever soley what we think of them as. And that's still okay. You can love a person, but not their actions.
