In record time, Royal Caribbean had managed to evacuate a ship full of people from the multiple islands in the wake of Hurricane Maria. Within those more than 1700 evacuees, were a family of 3 who found hope when they learned they could leave the island and seek renewed energy after seeing the situation would only get worse before it got better. It felt as if the relief effort provided by Royal Caribbean was 2nd nature and they simply shifted gears naturally to jump into action. This type of reaction was first seen by a for profit company who set aside personal gain to service the greater good of mankind. Today I went by the offices of Royal Caribbean and expressed with cakes our genuine appreciation as a Porto Rican. When an entire population fell to their knees in desperation, Royal Caribbean was a beacon of hope. If I could, I would nominate you for a Nobel peace prize in light of not one, but multiple efforts like the ones displayed this past week.
