1. Describe your comfort zone—a typical you-fic.

i am a sucker, a SUCKER, for fics with yearning. any fic where i can be like "they want each other SO FUCKING BAD it makes their brains leak out of their ears" im all about. also childhood friends to lovers. also anything fluffy and sweet. basically what im saying is that anything that makes me feel warm i will probably write thats my fricken bread and butter (ignore all the smut on my ao3 thats... idk what happened there , the avs are just horny for each other like that)

21. How many times do you usually revise your fic/chapter before posting?

"She's already told everyone, including my brother who called and yelled at me for ten minutes for not telling him," he adds with some amusement. "Come on, Jack, please don't make me go tell my mom I lied to her."

"You broke up with Jenna like five years ago, dude, it's not my fault you still haven't found someone else to put up with you," Jack chirps him; it’s weak but he's really just trying to buy some time before he gives in to the inevitable. He's always had a soft spot for Connor underneath it all, even back when they were supposed to hate each other. "I still don't get why you were so quick to volunteer me, but fine, I'll save your ass and pretend to be your boyfriend so your mom doesn't cry at you or whatever."

8. why is your favourite team your favourite team? I honestly don’t know? The best I can describe it is that when I got interested in the NHL and ended up finding the Bruins through Behind the B, it felt like coming home

21. what’s your all-time favourite hockey drama/scandal/story? There are many, but, in Steve Dangle’s words: “The Leafs lost to A 42-YEAR-OLD ZAMBONI DRIVER - WHO WORKS FOR THEM!”. It gets me every time

22. give me an unpopular opinion about any player or team Apart from “The Caps should be abolished”, which isn’t even an unpopular take anymore? McDavid shouldn’t have become a captain that young. At first glance it looks like he’s doing ok, but I don’t feel good about it. I don’t know how - or even if - he copes with it, but honestly, that decision killed something inside him. That amount of pressure and responsibility that young can’t be good. We’re talking about a franchise where the team’s popularity leaned on Gretzky long after he was gone - until “The Next One”. And then all that attention, all those expectations, were dumped on the shoulders of a young man who was barely out of childhood and definitely mentally not ready (considering how some key cognitive functions keep developing well into our twenties etc.). Sure, “it’s hockey”, but it’s not fair, safe, or healthy.

29. Have you ever gone outside of your comfort zone for a fic? How did it turn out?

honestly anytime i write smut i still feel like i’m out of my comfort zone. the more i do it the more comfortable i feel with it. so to answer the question, not really, but there are some things i’m definitely getting more comfortable with! and i was pretty pleased with how my most recent oneshot turned out, so i think that’s growth!

34. Copy and paste an excerpt you’re particularly fond of.

hohohooohhhh i had to spend a bit thinking about this. i’ve been really tough on my writing lately, and feeling pretty down about it. but here is a little passage from ch4 of inextricable that i actually like a lot! i pasted the full 4 paragraphs but the one paragraph in particular is my favorite so i bolded it lol. anyways... i guess this is to say, thanks for choosing this question, because it made me have to think about bits of my writing i have actually liked, and that was a good reminder for me!!!

23. What do you wish more fic authors would do?

tysonbaerrie: For hockey rpf in particular, I’d love to see more internalized homophobia in fics. I love that a lot of fics seem to exist in a universe where homophobia in sports isn’t really a thing, but a really well-done fic with just the right amount of doubt and pain?? I love it (as long as there’s a happy ending of course!)

pattyrosyteeks : i’m selfish and i would just like to see more healthy explorations of bisexuality and poly relationships! 

My obvious #1 is Raise Up - Petey Pablo. Bit of a cop out but I've been living in NC my whole life and whether or not you watch the Canes, if you're from here you know this song.

#2 Howling for You - The Black Keys for the Arizona Coyotes. Pure genius. What a perfect fit. Also, this is one of my favorite songs ever.

#3 T.N.T. - AC/DC for the Calgary Flames. Again, perfect choice and iconic song.

#4 Gold on the Ceiling - The Black Keys for the Nashville Predators. Can you tell I like this band??

#5 Chelsea Dagger- The Fratellis for the Chicago Hockey Team. Of course I hate this team's logo and name but this is a great song that I loved way before watching hockey. While this team needs to change a lot of things, this is not one of them. The fact that the city itself identifies with this song because of them is very impressive.

Special mention: the Capitals having unique goal songs is a great idea that I love! I personally like Backstrom's a lot but there's a ton of good ones from their roster.

Edmonton Oilers: What pairing(s) have you read pretty much every fic for?

The obvious answer is Roope and Sebastian. There are 13 and I wrote eight of them and I’ve read all of them and I wish there were more! I also started the tag. Also Ben and Sami, of 22 I wrote 14, read them all and started that tag too. Teuvo and Kimmo, of 17 I wrote eight, read them all, but I didn’t start that tag.

Los Angeles Kings: Drabble, one shot, mid-length (10-20k), long fic (20-50k), or looooong fic (50k+)?

Probably one shot. I have a short attention span (thank you ADHD) and I’m not good with a sea of words on the computer. But if it’s chapter by chapter, give me millions of words, bits at a time, and that’s great. 

Florida Panthers: What’s your favorite behind the scenes idea that never actually made it into a fic?

A cut scene from Seuraukset between Eero Teräväinen and Samuel Timonen talking about the situation. I did start writing it, but it derailed the main fic too much. I really should just make it a flash fic someday, I have about 400 words of it written.

Dallas Stars: What is the last thing you looked up for a wip?

Val-d’Or. I can’t explain why yet. 

Boston Bruins: What is your favorite scene from Uskollisuus?

This was tricky, that fic goes really fast, so there is so much behind some of the very brief moments that have since been fleshed out to mean so much more than what’s written there, I showed some of that with Me Molemmat but there are a lot more and they’re all my favorite. I think the “fucking strippers” scene might be my very favorite for so many subtle things in there that you could blink and miss.
