Recycle research. This image shows a cassette tape in an abandoned building. This is possibly showing that the time of the cassette tapes are over just like this building. It fits in with the background as they contrast in both colour and texture. This is due to the matte smooth texture of the tape compared to the wall peelings that are rugged. The green of the wall peelings complement the red in the tape.

This was the test illuminate image taken In a group with the class. I was put in place to light the tree, I was using a speedlite. The speedlite was set to the brightest setting, as the 30second exposure began I continually pressed the flash button as much as i could to get the most light out. As I pressed the button I’d hold it on the trunk for a few seconds and then moved upwards to the other branches. This shot took many many tries, we tried using the light differently but learned that the light from the side created textures which worked really well as it added shape and didn't look flat to the previous images. Kieran was in charge of the camera timer, he also used a speedlite but that changed as we progressed with the shot. We also had a light panel where Aiden and Nathan shared, previously we were lighting the trees in the distance to the right but thar changed as we progressed with the boat and made that our focus. The trick with the light panel was to start near the tree and move the light all the way along the side of the boat, this worked really well, but also needed to be careful not to be caught in the light and to keep moving. This was a helpful workshop as it gave me a better understanding using light.

This is the last contact and is the Compositional images. I enjoyed taking these photos along with the action photos, I really enjoyed taking a range of different images and it forced me to look around and not just focus on the players but the basket, the ball and the fans and the action outwith the game, and moments within the game unconnected to a score/basket made. This was an enjoyable experience. The images within these contacts that are marked green, the finals were picked from the green- not all images marked green are final images used and printed however. 

This is the 2/3 contacts and is the Slow Shutter speed contact. Experimenting with different settings was really interesting and fun to do. There is a lot less images compared to the fast shutter speed images due to the fast action was really fun to capture expressions, however capturing the movement creates really interesting images from the interesting shapes formed by the blurs. All the images were created using a range of lenses including a 24-105mm, 50mm, and a 70-200mm. The 50mm belongs to me and was actually the preferred lens used due to the 1.4 aperture as the others widest aperture being 4/5.6 and so due to this a higher ISO was needed. I liked the different angles to experiment but once I found a really good spot I liked staying there as trying the others were difficult with the 50mm due to the fixed focal length. This was a fun experience and I'm glad I got to do it with basketball, as I found it difficult to find a sport at first as people didn't reply and other places didn't have big events on and I didn't get reply back first with the basketball and so to finally get the baskeball made me happy to worth the passing of the deadline.

Catch Me If You Can 1/3 contacts. There is many contacts due to the vast amount of images I took and so I split them into categories- Fast Shutter Speed, Slow Shutter Speed and Compositional. This was used for the possibles in the fast shutter speed section. I really enjoyed taking images at the basketball and I organised it myself with getting into contact with the Glasgow volunteering, after trying to get in contact with the emirates, who put me in contact with someone in which helped me get in contact with someone else with the Glasgow rocks after calls and many, many emails and so was a good experience for me. It took a while to organised but was worth the wait. From the Fast Shutter speed I chose two/three photos from this area. To upload this contact onto tumblr I had to decrease the file quality from 12 to 8.

This was changed from the previous image to the final image chosen due to the better focus and more flowers shown. This image has a lot of noise shown however if it was printed it wouldn't be as bad as shown and described in second image. This image was cropped to get a better and non distracted distracted view as the front of the lorry was too much of a distraction. I think I panicked at this stage due to my low battery which I should have realised however will not happen again. This image shows the help and the delivery process provided by the Dutch men who provide the flowers from Holland. This was early in the morning and the lorry also blocked the light a bit and so a high ISO was used with as low aperture possible.

This photo was also chosen for a final image BUT HAS BEEN CHANGED TO THE PHOTO ABOVE, however I'm not too pleased with it. I had a low battery and it was still early in the morning as well as the lorry blocking some light. The low battery prevented me from taking one last image which I had focused better and then the battery ran out, and so this was the image taken before it. The focus is poor and so it kind of ruins the image, however I liked this image due to the flowers being on the ground and the delivery flower guy carrying them into the shop showing how the flowers are provided in the shop.

This is also a chosen final image for Show Me The Money. I really like this composition. It shows in the foreground a strong focus on the roses and then in the background (blurred) a rose in a glass dome inspired by Beauty and the Beast for Valentines Day. I love the strong contrast in the colours. The roses in the foreground were chosen to be the focus due to the glass reflections in the dome was unpleasant to control without a polarising filter.
