The Inevitable Next 39 Clues Series
We all know that any day now Scholastic is going to announce some new 39 Clues series. But, really, how many times can these kids save the world?? They’ve been involved in so many different scenarios already, what else is there left for Scholastic to have a bunch of new authors write about??
Now, Superspecial might actually be the end. BUT I’m kind of suspicious considering “Day of Doom” was supposed to be the last book of the series and then “Unstoppable” was announced. Then “Flashpoint” was supposedly the last book and then “Doublecross” was announced. And finally “Mission Atomic” was going to be the finale of the 39 Clues series, the last we would ever see of these characters. AND THEN Superspecial was announced.
If this isn’t really the end I don’t want the next series to be about Amy and Dan saving the world for the 50th time in a row. I’d rather it be similar to the “Cahill Files” short stories but instead of short stories it would be a series focusing on a member or members of the Cahill family.
Personally, I’d like to see a series where Hope Cahill and Arthur Trent meet in the first book and in the last book of the series they die in the fire.
Or a series about Ian and Natalie’s lives prior to the Clue Hunt.
Maybe a series of five really long books, like 500+ pages each. The first would be about Luke Cahill, and the fifth would focus on Madeliene. Each would be about the life of one of the founders taking place directly after the fire that initially started the Cahill family’s fallout.
And if the new series absolutely MUST focus on Amy and Dan I want a series about them and the other Cahills (Ian, Jonah, Hamilton, Sinead, etc.) coming to grips with and coping with everything that they’ve endured throughout the past couple of series and simultaneously attempting to lead the Cahill family. But NOT another series about them all “saving the world.”
What do you guys think?
