After getting into Gryffindor and realizing how much better everyone else was at doing magic she needed to get away and practice. So she went to her grandmothers house who was a legend in Hogwarts to get tutelage. After visiting with her for a while, Dakota tried some spells on her own and what a mistake that was. She cast a spell to turn the leave a different color and ended up changing the color of her hair. She huffed and sat down with her now purple hair on her shoulders.
