She's Gone
"Shouldn't you be in the cathedral?"
Caelista sighed. Was she being mocked? She couldn't even tell, anymore. "Why, do you actually think the Light has any answers for me right now?" she asked, setting her mug on the table with a heavy thud. "Do you want to pick at me about it, even now, Ilithia?"
Now it was the warlocks turn to sigh. "No, I suppose not." She slumped into a chair opposite the priestess, eyeing the rather large collection of empty glasses on the table. Caeli arched an eyebrow. "Or perhaps you'd like to comment on my drinking habits?"
"Oh, is it a habit now?" Ilithia smirked, but the expression didn't last. She looked at Caeli and then looked away, the pain on the priestess' face too much to bear. Caeli stared at her with bloodshot eyes. "Is this too much for you? Feelings too plain on my face?" She faded to shadowform. "Better? Now you can look at me without being forced to face reality." Her voice was ice.
Ilithia scowled, then gestured to the bartender. "Another for my friend, and a double for me." When the drinks arrived, Caeli lifted her glass, downed it, and thumped it back on the table. She faded back out of shadowform, looked at the warlock, then at the floor, and whispered "Did you see her?" A tear rolled down her cheek.
Ilithia downed her own drink before saying, her voice breaking on the single syllable, "Yes".
30 Days of Character Development - Day 5
5.) What’s your character’s ranking on the KINSEY SCALE?
2 or 3, I guess. Honestly she's spent much of her life far more focused on the church and her studies than on who she might like to get cozy with.
