life was passing by far too quickly, and once again, yuri huxley wasn’t keeping up. it was the second day of the arena, and he was still stuck somewhere on the first, between the ever-present thought that it could’ve been him in the casino lobby, both of three’s tributes being out of the games this early, and one of them being the friend that had volunteered for him. it wasn’t as though he felt the hurry, though. there was no pressing urgency in him keeping up -- it was eleven in the morning and he’d found himself at one of the resort’s bars, like he should’ve been here yesterday evening and had only just managed to show up now. he sighed, sipped on a drink he couldn’t name, for he hadn’t paid attention. when he reached the bottom of his glass, he looked up in search of a reason to leave. or to stay. the latter might’ve been easier, anyway, he was pretty much done with his job for the season, and had utterly failed at it.
“hey, will you have a drink with me ?? i know it’s early, but..”
