Well, I got the S12 "running" to a certain degree. Occasionally idles rough, then smooth, then it dies when I put it in drive. So, I'm kinda in the same spot as when I originally parked it. Have any tips or advice on putting a z31 gas tank back on? I can't find anything online to help
Wish you never had to take it out. Have 1 or 2 jacks available and 1 friend to help you lift it back into the car.

would the vg33e work as well as the vg30e in the performance and parts department or nah? the only way it seems ill get a vg30e is if i buy a whole z31 but i wouldnt want to strip it for parts i would feel to bad about that
The VG33e is superior the the VG30 is just about every way. The VG33 has 10% more displacement, it has a superior oil pump design with more flow, the rods and crank are just as strong as VG30/maybe stronger, and the heads are OWO casting, which have much better flow from the factory than the Z31/Maxima VG30 heads without porting.
You can find a VG30e in a lot more than Z31′s, they’re in Z31′s, Maximas, Pathfinders, M30′s, S12′s, and Hardbody’s
