She planned to meet earlier with Osiris in the dining room of their penthouse suite. Since the Capitol was considered the most privileged, the tributes representing it got the best floor.Â
Nevertheless, she was late. Dessert had already been served and she intentionally missed dinner in order to finish packing away all of her things. However, just as she walked in, she spotted Osiris sitting at the table alone as he continued eating away his dessert, probably still waiting on her.
Chardonnay came up from behind him and took a seat to his left, “Sorry,” she exclaimed, “I was unpacking all my stuff. I figured I might as well get it out of the way now since we have a busy week ahead of us.”

The Flame and The Fire
Closely following the events in their bios.
The world was not the same. Osiris didn’t feel any familiarity with it, with the sands he’d once known. And his brother, Setekh with his shimmering silks and sun-touched wings, was changed too. Where was his fire? His heat? Osiris felt detached, and it itched at his skin. He wondered, briefly, if he was the one who had changed instead, locked away in that prison for years.
“You are quiet, brother.” Setekh’s voice was kind, and Osiris hated him for it.
“I’ve been thinking, is all.” He kept his voice neutral, his gait even. They walked along the roads, mindful of the cracks that littered the once-stone walkways. The Sunbeam Ruins were many things, but well-kept wasn’t often one of them. It was an ancient place, but at least they walked at night when the sun wasn’t burning down on them.
Setekh spoke again, slightly prying. “Are you worried?”
“Over what?”
With a sigh, Setekh quickened his pace until he was beside his brother. “Starting over. Reintegrating yourself in…all this. It has been some time, Osiris.”
Osiris sighed, let his pace slow. He stopped and stared up to the sky, where the nighttime stars flickered like firebugs. “Not once have I ever been integrated in this world, even before I was taken from you. Life now will be much the same, even if you are not.” He looked down to his brother, an accusation in his eyes, his words.
Setekh smiled with a look that was both soft and sad. “I know, brother. You are angry with me, and I accept this. But what did you think I would do while you were gone? I am not you, and I do not have the same…skills. The same mind. All that you showed me, all that you taught me, vanished when you did.”
“So nothing I gave you, you kept?” Osiris turned, shoulders tense. “If I have been forcing you to live a lie, perhaps you would have done well to tell me before. Years, wasted, and for what?”
“It was not a waste!” Setekh only matched his brothers intensity, stepping closer in an attempt to get him to see sense. “We are more than thievery and lurking in the shadows. If that is all you want to our relationship, then you need to realize I crave more than that.”
“More?” Osiris replied, his voice a hiss. “I have given you all that I have, time and time again. I was the one who kept us alive, who kept us fed. Not once did I ask for anything in return.”
“I know-”
“Over and over I sacrificed so that you meant thrive, and so quick were you to cast it all aside. So quick were you to erase the part of you that had anything to do with me.” Osiris’ mouth was twisted in a snarl.
Setekh didn’t say anything for a moment, and then sighed. “What do you want me to say, Osiris? An apology? For living my life? I will not lie and say I regret what I did. You may have given your all to help me survive, but I still needed to learn how to survive without you by my side.”
Osiris seethed. “An apology,” he scoffed. “As if that will erase all that has come between us.”
“And what, brother, is that? Nothing has changed. Nothing but your-”
“I was imprisoned for you!” Osiris roared, wings flaring behind him with his barely kept hurt and anger. “For years I lived alone, not knowing if you were well, but hoping that what I did was the right thing. I was beaten, starved, and wounded for you, Setekh. All I want is for you to just-” He cut himself off, looking away. He seemed to tremble with either anger or sadness, Setekh did not know.
For a moment neither spoke, and then Setekh stepped over and rested his head on his brothers shoulders, wings curling around his brothers flank. “I am sorry,” he said. “You have suffered, and I forget that too easily because I am used to you being silent and strong in the face of your pain, but I will feign ignorance no longer. Your hurt is my hurt, brother. I see it. I see you.”
