Code4Lib North Recap
http://wiki.code4lib.org/index.php/North#Fifth_Meeting:_London_Public_Library.2C_May_1st_and_2nd.2C_2014
I presented on the first afternoon and you can read my notes here
We had some interesting discussions that generally resolved to "vendors are assholes, so why do people trust them?"
I had three beers: a Muskoka Cream Ale (tasty), a Muskoka Harvest Ale (pretty good), a Creemore Springs (ok, but I've had it before)
I got to meet a bunch of people I follow on twitter, which is always fun
I learned a lot about Software Carpentry and I'm going to try and find a way to either teach myself from the lesson plans or go to one somehow
Even in libraries, it's mostly men on the IT side of things, even if they are nice men
unconferences are fun.
