I'm Back! I'm not promising regular updates from now on, but I am working on more!
Back at it again!
After waving bye to Markus (who looks pleased to see him gone), Peter steps inside and closes the door behind him.Â
Clive is sitting on the couch, watching cartoons. He nods a hello. Peter hides the Mug In A Box behind his back, but itâs pretty pointless, considering Clive is probably the least observant person on the planet and wouldnât notice the box if it hit him in the face.Â
âMum made lasagna, I think thereâs still some left in the fridge,â Clive mumbles.
âNice,â Peter says, stifling a yawn. Heâs already half upstairs and wants nothing more than to go to sleep.Â
âOh, and mum asked me to ask you if you picked up dadâs dry cleaning like he asked.â
Oh god.
âUuuhh,â Peter says, scratching the back of his neck. He even wrote it down, how did he forget? Oh go d-
âHeâs going to be so mad that you havenât.â
âYeah, shut up.â Peter sighs, going up the rest of the stairs and into his bedroom. It only takes him a few seconds to fall asleep, heâs so tired.Â

Peter grabs his keys from his pocket-
(wait, where are my keys? have i dropped them?? goddammit this is the third ti- oh theyâre here never mind)
- and unlocks the front door.
Yeah, this is definitely Peterâs street. Phew, finally. He can tell Markus doesnât want to be around him any more, heâs started to glance at Peter impatiently from the corner of his eye.
âWhich oneâs yours?â Markus asks.Â
âItâs the one next to the one with the weird bushes.â
âOkay.â Markus says, stopping the car in front of that house.Â
âUh...â Peter sits there uncomfortably for a few seconds. Whatâs he supposed to say? OH-
âThanks for giving me a lift,â he mumbles, scratching the back of his neck. He really needs to stop doing that.
âYouâre welcome.â Markus nods. They sit in awkward silence for a few seconds before Peter realises whatâs going on and unbuckles his seat belt.
âI, er... Iâll see you at work tomorrow.â
âTomorrowâs your day off.â
Oh, thatâs right, no work on Tuesdays. Niiiiiiiiiiice.
âWell, see you on Wednesday then.â
âSee you,â Markus says. With that, Peter grabs the mug, opens the car door and hops out.
As Markus drives on, away from the city centre, the buildings shrink from skyscrapers to terraced houses. Peterâs struggling to keep his eyes open.
âHave you remembered where you live yet?â Markus asks. Heâs staring straight ahead, not frowning for once.
âI mean...â Peter glances out the window before looking back at Markus. âI knew where we were going before, but now Iâm lost.â
âFantastic.â
âHey thatâs hardly my fault, youâre the one who drove us here.â
âYouâre the one who forgot his address.â
âI havenât completely forgotten it,â Peter says.âItâs got Finch in it.â
âRight.â
They continue along in silence. Peter looks up at the sky, which is dotted with stars. When he was younger he learnt a few of the constellations, but he canât remember them now. At age ten he went through a phase of wanting to be an astronaut, but he changed his mind when he realised how much exercise was involved. Now he hacks things.Â
After a while, they pass a sign which has âFinch roadâ on it, and Peter snaps awake.
âMarkus!â he shouts, causing Markus to jump.
âDonât do that,â Markus says. âEver.â
