"No, no I don't mind..." Because why should he? He keeps saying he's going to quit. Even manages it for a bit. But the minute Billy sparks up, Alan is leaning against the brick of the building and following suit. He pats down the front of his jacket and wouldn't you know it? He clicks his tongue with irritation. How doesn't he have a lighter on him? He always has one, always. It's secondhand nature, ingrained in his muscle memory. A way to fend back the dark in an emergency. WHERE IS HIS LIGHTER?
If it worries him, it hardly shows. His lips twitch around the end of a cigarette and shoulders rise up in a motion that says 'oh well'. "You mind?"
