"Interesting? Really? You'd think everyone around here is a little curious about something. I mean, look at all those lingering eyes." Delilah pointed out, innocently gesturing toward the people staring at her. "I'd say they're pretty curious to see what's in my pants, don't you think?" She said with a soft angelic laugh, her eyes lighting up with amusement. She was mostly joking but knew there was some truth to her words, the people around her gazed at her like she was a prize to be claimed. She took a sip of her drink, listening to his next set of words carefully as she gazed at his features.

He wasn't wrong, for without the action, she wouldn't get the opportunity to learn the skills she needed to save lives. Though each situation was bad, it was necessary to help advancements in medicine, that way they can save more lives. "That's…not a bad way to view things. To learn to heal, we truly need the broken." She said as she suddenly noticed how warm his hand was, almost like he was burning from the inside. She lingered a little too long on his warmth, something she missed feeling in her own skin. She couldn't help but feel drawn in by his smile, liking the way her name sounded coming off his lips.

"I hope so…I want to be the best surgical resident in my year…And that takes a lot of surgeries." She said, almost trailing off with her words a few times as she looked into his eyes. 'I can't deny he's actually pretty cute. But that smile is dangerous…I can feel it.' A thought originally reserved for herself accidentally projected into the thought of the man she happened to be staring at. But, she didn't seem to notice as she simply smiled a bit more.

Delilah’s doe eyes were still scanning the bar when she heard a familiar voice come from the bar stool closest to her. She looked over in surprise to see one of her newest co-workers, Doctor Choi. She hadn't had time to speak to anyone at work, surprisingly finding herself deep in traumas in this new city. However, Delilah had time to memorize their faces as she passed them in the halls, being sure to ask her surgical attendees for names. She often stored them in her mind for safekeeping, not wanting to be caught off guard in her work environment. So, of course, Delilah knew at least who Doctor Choi was, giving her a weird sense of comfort she wasn't sure she should have.

"Not shy, just curious." She said honestly to his question, her eyes glancing to the pool table nearby. As if reading her mind, the man pointed to the guy she was staring at and identified him as a vampire. It wasn't hard for her to see he was right after he pointed it out, making her realize she was being too obvious about the little game she was playing in her head. Thankfully, he didn't choose to linger on her curiosity and instead asked her about work. She took his hand as he extended it, a kind smile on her face as she gave it a gentle shake.

"I find it much more thrilling than what I was used to back home. A lot more action in this place, though I'm not sure that's something I should be thrilled about. But as a surgical resident, you take as many surgeries as you can get." She answered honestly, her body visibly relaxing as she talked about work. She no longer worrying about the lingering eyes of the hungry patrons, not while she was talking about what she loved. "Nice to meet you, Haru Choi. I'm Delilah McLaine. A pleasure to meet you outside the hospital."
